Communications Act of 1934 Clause Examples

The Communications Act of 1934 is a federal law that established the framework for regulating interstate and international communications in the United States. It created the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and granted it authority over radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable communications. For example, the Act empowers the FCC to issue licenses, enforce broadcasting standards, and manage spectrum allocation. Its core practical function is to ensure orderly and fair access to communication channels, prevent monopolies, and protect the public interest in the rapidly evolving field of communications.
