Water quality standards definition

Water quality standards means provisions of state or federal law which consist of a designated use or uses for the waters of the Commonwealth and water quality criteria for such waters based upon such uses. Water quality standards are to protect the public health or welfare, enhance the quality of water and serve the purposes of the State Water Control Law (§ 62.1-44.2 et seq. of the Code of Virginia) and the federal Clean Water Act (33 USC § 1251 et seq.).

Water quality standards means Surface Water Quality Standards, Chapter 173-201A WAC, Ground Water Quality Standards, Chapter 173-200 WAC, and Sediment Management Standards, Chapter 173-204 WAC.

Water quality standards means water quality standards as adopted by the commissioner in accordance with section 22a-426 of the General Statutes.

Water quality standards means the combination of water uses to be protected and the water quality criteria to be maintained by these rules.

Water quality standards means the standards set forth in Chapter 3745-1 of the Administrative Code.

Water quality standards means water quality standards set under rules promulgated by the department under s. 281.15.

Water quality standards means standards composed of designated present and future most beneficial uses (classification of waters), the numerical and narrative criteria, including Site Specific Alternative Criteria, applied to the specific water uses or classification, the Florida antidegradation policy, and the moderating provisions, such as variances, mixing zone rule provisions, or exemptions.

Water quality standards means the regulations in Chapter 3745-1 of the Administrative Code.

Water quality standards means those provisions contained in Minn. R. 7050 and 7052.

Water quality standards means the Ohio Water Quality Standards [Ohio Administrative Code 3745-1] and water quality criteria calculated using these rules.
